Kuwait’s startup and SME economy is surging, yet the financial infrastructure for embedded finance remains underdeveloped, especially for underbanked businesses. As the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) strengthens its digital finance agenda, there’s unprecedented opportunity to launch a plug-and-play embedded financial services architecture for Kuwait’s fast-growing entrepreneur and micro-enterprise base. A regional fintech buildout initiative is now recruiting a Remote Global Product Lead to design Kuwait’s first universal embedded finance infrastructure layer specifically calibrated to SME digitization, trade, and working capital acceleration.
Mission-Defining Responsibilities:

Lead the product design of a unified, API-first platform offering embedded loans, B2B payments, cash flow analytics, and insurance microservices for Kuwaiti SMEs.

Design SDKs and onboarding flows for ERP systems, e-commerce platforms, POS vendors, and logistics firms to access credit and payment rails.

Engineer integration with Kuwait’s civil ID ecosystem, CBK KYC standards, and national SME databases to enable contextual onboarding and low-friction underwriting.

Partner with banks, Takaful providers, and accounting software companies to white-label core services under Kuwait-specific licensing requirements.

Construct a modular decision engine for credit scoring based on sales data, payroll records, and merchant activity across supply chains.

Incorporate multi-lingual UX, financial literacy plug-ins, and Arabic-first interfaces designed for mobile use in underserved business communities.

Coordinate with CBK’s regulatory sandbox, open banking entities, and financial inclusion taskforces to ensure legal, shariah, and risk compliance.
Baseline Qualifications:

10+ years in embedded finance, SME platform strategy, or open API infrastructure development.

Proven experience launching fintech API ecosystems in the MENA region.

Familiarity with Kuwait’s financial system, regulatory climate, and SME market behavior.
Preferred Competency:

MSc or MBA in Financial Product Design, Digital Finance Strategy, or Economic Inclusion Architecture.

Arabic fluency and understanding of Kuwait’s economic transformation initiatives (e.g., New Kuwait Vision 2035).

Prior experience in open banking protocols and B2B fintech API deployments.
