Role Overview

This role demands a globally experienced leader to design and oversee the evolution of digital payments ecosystems across the UAE, one of the world’s most prominent fintech hubs. The successful candidate will advance strategies for frictionless, secure, and globally interoperable payment systems while enabling cross-border trade and supporting the UAE’s ambitions as a leader in financial technology and digital commerce.

Key Responsibilities

• Define strategic frameworks for real-time payments, tokenized transactions, and digital wallets.

• Build regional and global payment partnerships across banks, fintech innovators, and regulators.

• Drive initiatives on CBDC experimentation, blockchain settlement platforms, and instant payments.

• Strengthen cybersecurity, digital identity, and fraud prevention measures across digital payment channels.

• Represent UAE standards in global financial forums, ensuring alignment with ISO 20022 and cross-border interoperability.

• Implement financial inclusion strategies by expanding access to mobile-first and cloud-based payment ecosystems.

Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Technology.

• 15+ years of executive experience in payments strategy, financial technology, or cross-border settlement.

• Expertise in global payment infrastructures, remittances, and e-commerce ecosystems.

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks under the UAE Central Bank and DIFC.

• Proven leadership in scaling international digital payment solutions.

• Strategic foresight with global and regional executional capacity.

• Technical expertise in payment infrastructure architecture.

• High-level governance, risk management, and compliance oversight.
