Position Summary:
An elite opportunity has emerged for an accomplished fintech strategist and technologist to serve as Executive Lead for Islamic Fintech Innovation & RegTech Architecture within a UAE-centered ecosystem. This is a fully remote leadership position with direct oversight of a greenfield portfolio of initiatives aimed at reshaping the future of Shariah-compliant financial systems, built in harmony with the UAE Central Bank, DFSA, VARA, and Islamic advisory councils.
This role is suited for individuals who have operated at the intersection of financial regulation, Islamic jurisprudence, and technological design—crafting next-gen solutions in takaful, halal investments, Zakat automation, and Shariah-compliant embedded finance.
Core Responsibilities:
-
Architect and lead a portfolio of digital Islamic finance products (e.g., Musharakah investment platforms, digital Sukuk issuance engines, Murabaha-based BNPL schemes) from regulatory, technological, and jurisprudential perspectives.
-
Collaborate with Islamic scholars, compliance officers, and product engineers to implement smart contract templates that embed Fiqh principles into DeFi-like systems while meeting legal enforceability standards in the UAE.
-
Design RegTech infrastructure to manage fatwa documentation, audit trails, governance workflows, and dynamic compliance scoring across Islamic financial apps.
-
Interface directly with VARA, DFSA, and the UAE Central Bank to shape digital Shariah fintech policies, sandbox experiments, and cross-border innovation pilots.
-
Build scalable APIs for Shariah-checking engines and risk engines, enabling plug-and-play Islamic fintech modules for UAE-based financial apps and global diaspora platforms.
-
Oversee data privacy, ethical AI use, and non-interest-based monetization models in accordance with both Islamic law and Emirati financial regulations.
-
Present whitepapers and position statements on Islamic fintech standards in regional and global forums, cementing UAE’s leadership in halal digital finance.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree or PhD in Islamic Finance, Shariah Law, Computer Science, or Quantitative Finance.
-
Minimum 10 years in fintech, with at least 5 years building Islamic financial solutions or working within Islamic banks or advisory boards.
-
Familiarity with Islamic finance contracts (Sukuk, Ijara, Wakala, etc.), and ability to collaborate across Arabic and English-speaking stakeholders.
-
Working knowledge of UAE regulatory systems (DFSA, ADGM, VARA, CBUAE) and Islamic finance compliance models.
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience with tokenized Sukuk offerings, Halal crowdfunding platforms, or Zakat allocation algorithms.
-
Prior contribution to AAOIFI or IFSB compliance models.
-
Arabic fluency and cross-border fintech governance exposure.
