Strategic Imperative

Bahrain, home to the GCC’s most advanced regulatory sandbox, is uniquely suited to become the regional hub for RegTech infrastructure and AI-based compliance tooling. With rising cross-border digital transactions and crypto-financial assets, there’s an urgent need for intelligent, automated, and predictive AML systems tailored to the region’s legal environment.

This position offers the opportunity to design Bahrain’s next-generation compliance intelligence layer, integrating AI, biometrics, behavioral analytics, and real-time regulatory signals into fintech ecosystems. The Chief of RegTech Automation will build the operating system of trust, making it easier for fintechs to innovate without breaching compliance.

Principal Objectives

  • Architect a modular, AI-enhanced AML suite for digital banks, crypto platforms, neobanks, and payment gateways across Bahrain and the wider GCC.

  • Develop compliance automation pipelines that detect suspicious activity across fiat, crypto, remittance, and digital securities in real time.

  • Integrate natural language processing (NLP) engines for automated regulatory interpretation and proactive risk alerts.

  • Collaborate with Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) to implement live transaction monitoring APIs and sandbox-based compliance simulations.

  • Design fraud prediction models, entity risk scoring systems, and visual compliance dashboards for regulators and fintechs alike.

  • Build AML automation tools for KYC orchestration, continuous due diligence, sanctions screening, and transaction behavioral anomaly detection.

  • Interface with local and international legal frameworks, including FATF guidelines, GDPR, and Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law.

  • Coordinate regulatory engagement layers so fintechs can plug into compliance-as-a-service APIs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years in compliance technology, financial crime prevention, or regulatory infrastructure design.

  • Strong background in machine learning, graph analytics, and data governance.

  • Deep knowledge of GCC regulatory frameworks, especially CBB’s crypto and digital finance licensing.

  • Experience building RegTech systems used by regulators or national compliance platforms.

  • Track record integrating AI into AML workflows, including behavioral analytics and real-time decisioning.

  • Passion for building ethical, auditable, and explainable AI systems in highly sensitive environments.

Why Bahrain?

Bahrain’s fintech ecosystem offers the highest level of regulatory maturity, agility, and digital experimentation space in the region. This role positions you to lead the compliance transformation of a continent, making regulation a frictionless part of innovation.
