Role Overview
The Chief Digital Payments Transformation Officer will architect and execute a next-generation payments modernization blueprint, anchoring the UAE’s transition toward a fully digital, interoperable, and AI-driven payments ecosystem. This strategic role demands an executive visionary who can blend advanced financial technologies with pragmatic regulatory insight to shape the country’s digital commerce future under emerging CBDC and open banking frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement an enterprise-wide digital payments architecture integrating real-time settlement, tokenization layers, and API-first transaction gateways.

Lead cross-border digital payment harmonization across GCC corridors leveraging ISO 20022 and blockchain-based interoperability standards.

Develop a roadmap for next-generation merchant acquiring, QR-based payments, and digital wallet orchestration aligned with UAE Central Bank’s modernization directives.

Oversee AI-driven transaction monitoring and dynamic risk scoring engines to mitigate fraud and improve customer trust.

Drive collaboration with global PSPs, digital banks, and e-commerce enablers for unified cross-channel transaction experiences.

Establish innovation sandboxes for testing digital payment prototypes under evolving data privacy and cybersecurity standards.
Core Competencies

Mastery of digital payment infrastructures, RTP systems, and tokenized payment mechanisms.

Profound expertise in regulatory frameworks governing UAE fintech and digital financial services.

Proven leadership in scaling enterprise fintech products across multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional landscapes.

Deep understanding of ISO 20022 migration, EMV tokenization, and blockchain settlement frameworks.
Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Financial Engineering, Digital Economics, or Payment Systems Management.

Minimum 12 years’ experience in digital finance, with at least 5 years in senior transformation leadership.

Experience with CBDC pilots, instant payment rails, and embedded finance models preferred.
