Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 mandates the transformation of trade, supply chain, and finance systems through trusted digital rails. With the ongoing development of the Digital Riyal, there is a critical demand for a Layer-2 blockchain architect to lead the tokenization of commercial flows—starting with oil derivatives, agriculture, minerals, and halal-certified goods.
This role focuses on building an intelligent, tokenized trade finance platform atop Layer-2 blockchain technology compatible with Saudi CBDC and integrated with customs, taxation, port logistics, and Shariah-compliant banking instruments.
Core Responsibilities

Architect a Layer-2 blockchain infrastructure atop Digital Riyal protocols to enable programmable, smart contract-based trade instruments.

Develop tokenized letters of credit, e-invoice smart bonds, and real-time financing workflows across supplier tiers.

Integrate halal verification tokens, Islamic trade insurance contracts, and embedded customs clearance logic into blockchain rails.

Build cross-border DLT channels between KSA and key export partners (UAE, Bahrain, China, Egypt) to enable instant multi-currency trade settlement.

Deploy IoT-synced smart contracts that trigger payments upon verified logistics events (e.g., port clearance, temperature conditions, halal status).

Work with Saudi Export-Import Bank, SAMA, and the Ministry of Commerce to enable regulatory-compliant tokenized trade instruments.

Embed ESG tracking tokens for traceability and carbon accounting in supply chain flows, including ESG-aligned sukuk for trade expansion.
Requirements

10+ years in blockchain architecture, trade finance systems, or programmable money applications.

Familiarity with Islamic financial law, Saudi CBDC structure, and programmable compliance mechanisms.

Advanced proficiency in smart contracts (Rust, Solidity, Cairo), Layer-2 rollups, and blockchain scaling frameworks.

Deep experience integrating blockchain into supply chain systems, customs clearance, or regulated logistics platforms.

Proven track record navigating regulatory frameworks in KSA and working with government ministries.
