Position Overview
A rapidly expanding fintech banking institution is seeking an experienced Principal Test Automation Engineer – Financial Technology to lead enterprise-wide automation initiatives across a portfolio of next-generation banking products. This strategic role focuses on establishing scalable automation frameworks, accelerating release cycles, enhancing software quality, and ensuring the flawless operation of digital banking applications serving retail, corporate, and institutional customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the organization’s long-term automation strategy while collaborating closely with engineering, cybersecurity, DevOps, product management, business analysis, and infrastructure teams to build resilient, secure, and high-performing financial technology solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise automation strategies supporting Agile and DevSecOps delivery models.
- Build reusable automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and cloud-native banking applications.
- Design automated regression, smoke, integration, performance, and security testing solutions.
- Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Validate digital payments, open banking APIs, customer onboarding, lending platforms, and wealth management applications.
- Perform performance benchmarking and scalability testing for high-volume transaction systems.
- Analyze testing metrics to improve release quality and engineering efficiency.
- Establish quality gates throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers during feature implementation to improve software quality from inception.
- Lead defect triage sessions and quality review meetings.
- Mentor automation engineers and establish engineering best practices.
- Evaluate emerging testing technologies, AI-assisted testing platforms, and intelligent automation tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Master’s qualification preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of automation engineering experience within fintech, banking, financial services, or enterprise software.
- Strong expertise in automation architecture and enterprise testing methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of cloud-native application testing and distributed systems.
- Experience leading automation engineering teams.
