Role Mandate
This role represents a senior, architecture-level appointment for a fintech professional tasked with designing, governing, and continuously evolving large-scale digital payments ecosystems serving cross-border, high-velocity transaction environments. The mandate extends beyond platform delivery into payments orchestration, settlement logic, real-time clearing models, and interoperability frameworks aligned with international financial infrastructure standards.
The position is intentionally remote yet deeply embedded in the regulatory, commercial, and technological realities of the UAE’s advanced financial ecosystem. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of engineering strategy, payments economics, regulatory technology (RegTech), and institutional-grade resilience design.
Core Responsibilities

Architect and govern end-to-end digital payment infrastructures covering card networks, instant payments, alternative payment rails, and API-driven payment gateways

Design scalable transaction routing, reconciliation, and settlement architectures supporting multi-currency and cross-jurisdictional flows

Establish technical standards for high-availability systems, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and transaction integrity

Collaborate with compliance and risk stakeholders to embed AML, transaction monitoring, and reporting mechanisms at the architectural level

Lead long-term infrastructure roadmap planning, including cloud-native migrations and modular platform evolution

Act as a technical authority for payment security standards, encryption frameworks, tokenization, and data governance
Required Expertise

12+ years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial infrastructure design

Deep exposure to global payment schemes, real-time payment systems, and transaction processing engines

Proven experience architecting large-scale, regulated financial platforms

Advanced understanding of distributed systems, API governance, and high-throughput data processing

Strong commercial awareness of payment economics and fee structures
Salary Structure (Indicative – UAE Market, Remote)

Base Annual Salary: USD 145,000 – 185,000

Performance-Linked Incentive: 20% – 30% of base
