ROLE PURPOSE

To design and maintain ultra-low latency, high-frequency financial transaction systems capable of processing massive payment volumes with near-zero failure tolerance.

This is a systems-critical engineering role, where performance, reliability, and scalability are non-negotiable.

CORE ENGINEERING DOMAINS

1. High-Frequency Payments Processing

• Design systems capable of handling millions of transactions per second
• Optimize transaction routing and processing pipelines
• Reduce latency across distributed systems

2. Reliability Engineering (SRE Model)

• Implement fault-tolerant architectures
• Design automated failover and recovery systems
• Monitor system health using real-time observability tools

3. Performance Optimization

• Memory and CPU optimization at system level
• Network latency reduction strategies
• Efficient load balancing across distributed nodes

TECHNICAL STACK

• Languages: C++, Rust, Java (low-latency systems focus)
• Infrastructure: Kubernetes, bare-metal optimization
• Messaging: Kafka, custom event streaming frameworks
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain 24/7 system availability
• Conduct chaos engineering experiments
• Implement real-time alerting and incident response protocols
• Optimize throughput under peak financial loads

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TARGETS

• Latency per transaction < 10 milliseconds
• System uptime ≥ 99.999%
• Zero data inconsistency across distributed ledgers
• Recovery time objective (RTO) < 30 seconds

RISK & COMPLIANCE INTEGRATION

• Embed fraud detection hooks into transaction flows
• Ensure compliance with Saudi financial transaction regulations
• Maintain audit trails for all financial activities

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• 10–20 years in high-performance systems engineering
• Experience in fintech, trading systems, or payment processors
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and concurrency models
