Position Overview
An emerging sustainability-fintech collaborative in the GCC is hiring a Remote Principal Fintech Architect – Green Finance & Carbon Markets to lead the creation of digital finance solutions for environmental impact investing, ESG scoring, and tokenized carbon assets. Based virtually but regionally aligned with Oman’s Vision 2040 sustainability goals, the architect will co-develop platforms that allow investors, enterprises, and sovereign entities to measure, monetize, and trade verified environmental outcomes.
The solutions will empower Omani institutions to digitize carbon credits, build ESG investment rails, and integrate sustainability into Islamic finance, trade finance, and SME green loans.
Core Responsibilities

Architect fintech platforms for voluntary carbon markets (VCM), ESG-linked bonds, green sukuk issuance, and environmental impact financing.

Develop tokenization logic, oracles, and data bridges to integrate carbon registries and environmental monitoring services.

Build modular tools for ESG scoring of SME and corporate borrowers in Oman using satellite imagery, sensor data, and AI-driven disclosures.

Collaborate with Oman’s Central Bank, Environment Authority, Capital Markets Authority, and Sharia advisory boards on product alignment.

Define and enforce standards for environmental claims verification, impact traceability, and open API access for ecosystem partners.

Structure sustainability-focused investment APIs for neobanks, wealthtechs, and sovereign ESG portfolios.
Ideal Qualifications

7–10 years of experience in climate fintech, green digital finance, or ESG data architecture.

Solid grasp of the carbon value chain, tokenized environmental instruments, and ESG compliance reporting (e.g., GRI, SASB, ISSB).

Experience integrating fintech platforms with IoT, carbon offset registries, or national emissions platforms.

Ability to design systems under Oman’s Sharia-compliant finance regime and climate policy vision.

Expertise in digital asset standards (ERC-1155, ERC-3643) and AI for sustainability data modeling.
Preferred Background

MENA experience in climate or ESG-related finance.

Programming expertise in Solidity, Python, and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP).

Familiarity with TCFD, VERRA, or CDP frameworks.
