This role is designed for a senior fintech technologist with deep expertise in digital payments, transaction processing systems, and financial API ecosystems. The Principal Fintech Architect is responsible for designing and evolving the technical foundations that enable reliable, high-volume financial transactions.

The position is highly technical and architecture-focused, emphasizing system correctness, performance optimization, and fault tolerance across distributed financial systems.

Core Objectives

• Architect scalable and resilient payment platforms.

• Design transaction processing workflows with high throughput and low latency.

• Establish API standards for financial interoperability.

• Ensure data integrity and reconciliation accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Systems Architecture

• Design end-to-end payment and transaction workflows.

• Architect systems for authorization, clearing, settlement, and reporting.

• Define reconciliation and exception-handling mechanisms.

API & Integration Frameworks

• Establish standards for financial APIs and service orchestration.

• Design integration patterns for internal and external systems.

• Ensure consistency and reliability across all transaction interfaces.

Performance & Reliability

• Evaluate system behavior under peak transaction loads.

• Define fault-tolerance, redundancy, and recovery strategies.

• Document architectures and operational assumptions.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 9–13 years of experience in fintech engineering or financial systems architecture.

• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles and transaction models.

• Proven experience with distributed, API-driven financial platforms.

• High level of technical autonomy and accountability.
