This role is designed for a highly specialized engineer responsible for building and optimizing real-time payment and settlement systems. The focus is on ultra-low latency processing, system reliability, and financial transaction integrity.


Engineering Domains of Ownership

A. Real-Time Payment Architecture

  • Design high-throughput systems capable of processing transactions in real time.

  • Implement event-driven architectures for instant payment processing.

  • Optimize transaction routing and settlement mechanisms.

B. Settlement & Clearing Systems

  • Build systems for automated clearing and settlement across financial institutions.

  • Enable multi-currency and cross-border transaction capabilities.

  • Ensure accuracy and reconciliation of financial transactions at scale.

C. Performance Engineering

  • Optimize systems for low latency, high availability, and scalability.

  • Conduct stress testing and performance benchmarking.

  • Implement monitoring tools for real-time system diagnostics.

D. Security & Reliability

  • Design secure transaction pipelines with encryption and fraud prevention mechanisms.

  • Ensure compliance with financial security standards.

  • Build fault-tolerant systems with redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.


Technical Requirements

  • 10–15 years in backend engineering, fintech infrastructure, or payment systems.

  • Expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high-performance computing.

  • Strong knowledge of payment protocols and financial transaction flows.

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Go, or similar).
