Role Synopsis (Strategic Framing)

This role is engineered for a deeply technical architect capable of redefining next-generation payment ecosystems across high-volume, latency-sensitive financial networks. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of distributed systems design, regulated financial infrastructure, and real-time transaction orchestration, delivering resilient frameworks that support multi-rail payment environments.

You will not simply design systems—you will reimagine transactional velocity, security, and interoperability at scale, enabling frictionless financial exchange across domestic and cross-border channels.

Core Architectural Mandate

• Lead the design and deployment of high-throughput payment gateways supporting ISO 20022 messaging standards.

• Architect real-time settlement engines integrating RTGS, ACH, and card network rails.

• Develop event-driven microservices ecosystems using Kafka or equivalent streaming technologies.

• Engineer fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable infrastructure with sub-second latency targets.

• Integrate tokenization frameworks and PCI-DSS compliant vault systems for secure transaction processing.

• Oversee API-first financial ecosystems, enabling third-party fintech integrations and embedded finance solutions.

Advanced Technical Responsibilities

• Define architecture for multi-currency transaction routing engines.

• Implement intelligent fraud detection pipelines using machine learning inference models.

• Optimize database performance across distributed ledger and relational storage systems.

• Drive cloud-native transformations leveraging Kubernetes, service mesh architectures, and serverless functions.

• Establish observability frameworks (tracing, logging, metrics) for mission-critical financial workloads.

Regulatory & Market Alignment

• Align systems with UAE financial regulations and international compliance standards (FATF, Basel III).

• Ensure full adherence to data sovereignty, transaction monitoring, and AML frameworks.

• Collaborate with compliance units to embed regulatory logic directly into system architecture.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years in fintech or high-scale distributed systems engineering.

• Proven experience with payment networks, switching systems, or digital wallets.

• Deep expertise in Java, Go, or Rust-based backend systems.

• Strong command of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Demonstrated leadership in architecture governance and system design at scale.
