Role Mandate

This role sits at the apex of large-scale digital payments engineering, entrusted with the end-to-end architectural authority over next-generation payment rails operating across high-velocity, multi-currency, and multi-jurisdictional environments. The successful professional will define the technical and operational foundations for real-time payments, embedded finance, tokenized settlement layers, and programmable transaction flows deployed across consumer, enterprise, and institutional financial ecosystems.

The position demands absolute mastery of distributed systems, payments protocol design, regulatory-driven infrastructure resilience, and cross-border transaction orchestration at national or supra-national scale.

Strategic Scope & Impact

• Architect and govern high-availability payment platforms capable of processing millions of transactions per second with sub-second settlement guarantees.

• Design interoperable payment layers spanning card networks, instant payment schemes, open banking APIs, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.

• Define cryptographic trust models, fraud-resilient transaction pipelines, and zero-downtime settlement architectures.

• Establish long-term architectural roadmaps aligned with regional financial digitization initiatives and global payments standards.

• Act as the principal technical authority interfacing with regulators, financial networks, technology partners, and infrastructure vendors.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the design of cloud-native, event-driven payment infrastructures using microservices, service mesh, and real-time streaming architectures.

• Define standards for transaction authorization, clearing, reconciliation, and dispute resolution at scale.

• Implement advanced fraud detection and transaction monitoring frameworks using machine learning and behavioral analytics.

• Oversee resilience engineering, disaster recovery, and cyber-risk mitigation strategies across mission-critical payment systems.

• Establish governance frameworks for API monetization, third-party access, and ecosystem participation.

Technical & Professional Requirements

• 12+ years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial infrastructure architecture.

• Deep expertise in ISO 20022, real-time payment schemes, card processing, and digital wallet platforms.

• Advanced knowledge of distributed ledgers, cryptography, tokenization, and secure key management.

• Proven leadership in designing platforms regulated across multiple jurisdictions.

• Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder influence.

Compensation Structure (UAE)

• Base Salary: AED 55,000 – 75,000 per month

• Performance Incentive: 25% – 40% of annual base
