Role Mandate
This role represents a senior-most architectural authority within a next-generation fintech ecosystem, designed to operate at national and cross-border scale. The Principal Digital Payments & Financial Infrastructure Architect is entrusted with shaping, governing, and evolving payment rails, settlement frameworks, and transaction orchestration layers that underpin modern digital economies.
The mandate extends beyond product execution into systemic financial design—engineering resilient, real-time, API-driven payment infrastructures that integrate wallets, card networks, instant payment schemes, digital identity layers, and regulatory reporting mechanisms. This position operates at the intersection of technology architecture, market infrastructure, and financial policy execution, translating macro-level payment strategies into scalable, production-grade systems.
Core Responsibilities

Architect and govern large-scale digital payment ecosystems supporting high-volume, low-latency transactions across multiple channels.

Design interoperable payment frameworks integrating instant payments, tokenized credentials, merchant acquiring, and cross-border settlement.

Define technical standards for payment orchestration, reconciliation engines, fraud prevention layers, and real-time monitoring systems.

Lead the evolution of cloud-native payment platforms using microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed ledger components where applicable.

Establish technical governance for API exposure, developer ecosystems, and third-party integrations.

Oversee compliance-by-design approaches for data protection, transaction traceability, and supervisory reporting.

Act as a senior technical counterpart to regulators, financial institutions, and payment networks on infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Required Expertise

15+ years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial infrastructure architecture.

Deep expertise in real-time payment systems, ISO 20022 messaging, settlement engines, and transaction lifecycle management.

Strong command of cloud platforms, container orchestration, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures.

Demonstrated experience leading national or multi-market payment modernization programs.

Advanced understanding of payment risk, liquidity management, and fraud mitigation technologies.
Compensation Structure (UAE – Indicative)

Base Salary: AED 55,000 – 75,000 per month

Performance Incentive: 20% – 35% of annual base
