Role Overview

This position spearheads the conceptualization, architectural modeling, and systemic optimization of next-generation digital payments ecosystems across the UAE’s rapidly evolving financial innovation landscape. The Principal Digital Payments Ecosystem Architect drives multi-rail interoperability, real-time settlement capabilities, AI-enabled transaction intelligence, and advanced cross-border value-transfer frameworks. The role requires deep mastery of payment infrastructure design, regulatory alignment under UAE Central Bank frameworks, open banking enablement, tokenized value transfer models, and ultra-resilient digital payments architecture scaling to national-level throughput.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement enterprise-grade digital payments infrastructure, including instant payments, interoperable wallets, RTP rails, ISO 20022-aligned messaging structures, and smart authentication layers.

• Design multi-layer fraud intelligence frameworks, leveraging supervised and unsupervised models, behavioural biometrics, anomaly detection, and predictive authorization logic.

• Develop strategic schemas for UAE-driven cross-border payment modernization initiatives, integrating regional GCC payment corridors and multi-currency settlement logic.

• Lead architectural rationalization of API-driven open banking/payment interfaces, ensuring fragmentation reduction while maintaining ultra-high security benchmarks.

• Build governance blueprints governing data sovereignty, AML/CFT compliance automation, transactional audit cryptography, and risk score modulation across financial microservices.

• Direct optimization strategies covering payment orchestration, transaction queuing, throughput scaling, latency minimization, and high-availability failover design.

• Serve as principal advisor for macro-level payment modernization, contributing to UAE-wide initiatives in digital identity alignment, digital wallet standardization, and holistic consumer protection frameworks.

Required Expertise

• 10+ years in global payments architecture, financial systems engineering, or real-time settlement infrastructure design.

• Deep understanding of UAE payments regulation, ISO 20022 frameworks, end-to-end encryption standards, EMV 3DS, and AI-enabled fraud analytics.

• Strong proficiency in microservices architectures, distributed ledgers, scalable API stacks, and payment orchestration engines.

• Demonstrated capability in designing high-volume, multi-currency, cross-border transaction environments.
