Overview
As Oman opens its digital economy to blockchain experimentation—driven by sovereign interest in asset tokenization, supply chain traceability, and green finance—we are recruiting a Principal Blockchain Architect to lead the design and deployment of an enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure for fintech use cases across banking, insurance, and trade finance.
This role is remote-first but centered around Omani regulatory, institutional, and market dynamics. It suits a hands-on visionary with deep protocol-level knowledge and a pragmatic mindset for deploying blockchain in real-world financial systems, including regulated tokens, asset registries, and decentralized identity systems.
Key Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end blockchain-based infrastructure using hybrid public-private protocols tailored for Omani financial institutions and SME ecosystems.

Design tokenization frameworks for real estate, sukuk instruments, or green energy assets in compliance with Oman Capital Market Authority (CMA) guidelines.

Oversee smart contract development for programmable money, on-chain asset transfer, and automated compliance triggers.

Lead initiatives on digital identity (DID), verifiable credentials, and decentralized onboarding in partnership with local regulators.

Implement privacy-preserving mechanisms such as zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), multi-party computation (MPC), and selective disclosure.

Guide the selection of Layer 1 or Layer 2 protocols depending on performance, finality, and interoperability goals.

Collaborate with cloud security teams to harden node infrastructure and key custody protocols.
Ideal Background
-
Deep familiarity with Solidity, Rust, or other smart contract development environments.

Prior experience with permissioned DLTs (e.g., Hyperledger, Quorum) and/or interoperability protocols (e.g., Polkadot, Cosmos, Chainlink).

Strong grounding in cryptographic primitives and secure multi-party computation.

Demonstrated ability to balance decentralization with enterprise-grade performance and regulatory compliance.

Experience launching testnets, mainnets, or enterprise consortium networks.
Preferred

MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Cryptography, or Distributed Systems.

Contribution to open-source blockchain projects.

Familiarity with the regulatory and cultural contours of Omani markets, especially in fintech or Islamic finance domains.
