Position Summary
A high-performance fintech ecosystem is building a robust backend infrastructure to support large-scale transaction processing across digital banking, payments, and financial analytics platforms.
To strengthen this foundation, the organization is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer – High-Performance Financial Systems & Transaction Processing.
This role is responsible for designing and optimizing backend systems that power financial operations—ensuring speed, reliability, and scalability across millions of transactions.
The mandate is to build systems that are not only technically sound but also resilient, secure, and capable of supporting continuous growth.
Core Responsibilities
Backend System Architecture
- Design scalable backend services for financial platforms.
- Develop systems for high-frequency transaction processing.
- Optimize database performance and data access patterns.
- Implement microservices architectures for modular scalability.
Performance & Scalability Engineering
- Ensure low-latency system performance under heavy load.
- Optimize data pipelines for real-time processing.
- Implement caching and performance tuning strategies.
- Support horizontal scaling of financial systems.
Financial Systems Integration
- Integrate payment gateways, banking APIs, and financial services.
- Ensure seamless data flow across multiple system components.
- Support development of real-time financial applications.
- Maintain system reliability and uptime.
Security & Compliance
- Implement secure coding practices for financial systems.
- Ensure data protection and system integrity.
- Support compliance with financial regulations.
- Enable auditability of backend processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems and databases.
- Experience with financial systems or high-volume transaction platforms.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages.

- Java, Go, Python
- SQL/NoSQL databases
- Kafka or similar messaging systems
