Role Mandate
This role represents a senior-most architectural leadership position at the intersection of digital payments engineering, financial infrastructure modernization, and cross-jurisdictional scalability. The successful candidate will operate as an independent principal architect responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and governing next-generation payment ecosystems aligned with the UAE’s rapidly evolving digital finance landscape and international financial interoperability standards.
Rather than executional development alone, this role emphasizes systems thinking, architectural governance, and strategic infrastructure design, ensuring that complex payment platforms remain resilient, compliant, and future-proof across multiple regions and regulatory regimes.
Core Strategic Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end digital payment infrastructures encompassing real-time payments, wallet systems, settlement engines, and cross-border remittance frameworks

Define reference architectures for high-volume transaction processing, latency-optimized routing, and fault-tolerant financial systems

Lead protocol-level decisions involving ISO 20022 messaging, API-driven payment orchestration, and modular microservices frameworks

Establish architectural standards for data integrity, transaction traceability, and systemic risk mitigation

Collaborate remotely with legal, compliance, and policy specialists to ensure alignment with UAE financial regulations and international payment frameworks

Evaluate emerging payment technologies, including tokenized settlement mechanisms and programmable money models
Required Expertise

12+ years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial systems architecture

Deep experience with payment rails, settlement networks, and large-scale transaction systems

Strong understanding of financial regulations within the UAE and globally
