About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable Payments Specialist to support the development, optimization, and daily performance of digital payment services.
You will work across payment operations, technology, product, finance, risk, and external payment partners to ensure transactions are processed accurately, securely, and efficiently.
The role is ideal for a professional who understands how payment systems operate and can identify opportunities to improve reliability, customer experience, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Operations
- Monitor payment transactions and settlement activities.
- Investigate failed, delayed, rejected, or disputed transactions.
- Coordinate with internal teams and payment partners to resolve payment issues.
- Monitor transaction success rates and operational KPIs.
- Support reconciliation and settlement processes.
Payment Technology
- Work with technical teams on payment integrations.
- Support API and payment-gateway implementations.
- Assist with testing new payment functionality.
- Investigate technical payment issues.
- Participate in product upgrades and system improvements.
Product & Customer Experience
- Analyze payment performance and customer complaints.
- Identify friction within payment journeys.
- Recommend improvements to payment processes.
- Support the launch of new payment products and features.
Risk & Controls
- Monitor payment activity for operational risks.
- Support fraud-prevention initiatives.
- Ensure payment processes follow established controls.
- Maintain accurate records of payment incidents and investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of payment processing and settlement.
- Experience with payment gateways, APIs, or digital-wallet systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of transaction lifecycles.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of card payments, merchant acquiring, digital wallets, payment orchestration, transaction reconciliation, chargebacks, or payment APIs will be an advantage.
