Role Overview
The Payment Settlement & Clearing Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial transactions across payment systems. This role focuses on post-transaction processes, including settlement verification, clearing coordination, and reconciliation across multiple financial channels.
The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing high transaction volumes while maintaining strict accuracy and compliance standards.
Operational Playbook Responsibilities
1. Settlement Execution Management
- Oversee daily settlement cycles for digital payments, ensuring funds are transferred accurately between parties
- Monitor settlement timelines and resolve delays or discrepancies
- Coordinate with banking channels and payment processors to confirm settlement completion
2. Clearing Process Oversight
- Manage clearing operations for transactions across different financial networks
- Ensure alignment between transaction records and clearing system outputs
- Address mismatches between expected and actual cleared amounts
3. Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
- Conduct periodic reconciliation of settlement accounts
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Maintain detailed records of all settlement and clearing activities
4. Operational Risk Management
- Identify risks related to settlement failures or delays
- Implement controls to minimize financial and operational exposure
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 4–6 years of experience in payment operations or banking
- Strong understanding of settlement cycles and clearing systems
- Proficiency in financial reconciliation and reporting tools
