About the Role

An internationally expanding fintech banking institution is seeking an exceptional Lead Cloud & Application Security Engineer to secure enterprise cloud environments and mission-critical banking applications supporting millions of digital financial transactions.

This strategic engineering role focuses on designing secure cloud-native banking architectures, integrating security into modern software development lifecycles, strengthening application resilience, protecting digital identities, and ensuring continuous compliance across cloud platforms, APIs, payment systems, customer portals, mobile banking applications, and financial data services.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps engineers, software developers, cybersecurity analysts, enterprise architects, product managers, compliance specialists, and executive leadership to build highly secure financial technology platforms that support the organization’s ambitious digital transformation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architectures supporting enterprise banking platforms.
• Implement DevSecOps practices across software engineering teams.
• Secure APIs, microservices, mobile banking applications, and customer-facing digital services.
• Conduct application security reviews and secure code assessments.
• Integrate automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure cloud-native security services across enterprise environments.
• Perform threat modeling during application design phases.
• Manage secrets, encryption keys, certificates, and identity services.
• Collaborate with development teams to remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Support penetration testing programmes and remediation planning.
• Maintain secure configuration baselines across cloud environments.
• Develop security standards, engineering guidelines, and technical documentation.
• Participate in enterprise architecture governance and cloud modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
• Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of cloud security, application security, or DevSecOps experience within fintech, banking, financial services, or enterprise technology.
• Extensive experience securing cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of secure software engineering principles and modern cloud platforms.
