Role Definition
This position is designed for a senior fintech professional whose expertise spans payment system architecture, settlement mechanics, and financial messaging standards. The role exists to define, structure, and continuously evolve large-scale digital payment ecosystems capable of operating across high-volume, multi-currency, and multi-jurisdictional environments.
The role is remote by design and aligned with Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding digital finance landscape, while remaining entirely institution-agnostic.
Capability Domains & Competency Expectations
1. Payments Architecture & Transaction Design

Mastery of transaction lifecycles from initiation to final settlement

Design of real-time, near-real-time, and deferred settlement models

Deep understanding of clearing mechanisms, reconciliation logic, and exception handling

Ability to architect payment systems that support scalability without sacrificing determinism
2. Financial Messaging & Interoperability

Strong command of financial message structures and schema governance

Design of API-driven and message-based integration layers

Definition of interoperability standards between banks, fintech platforms, and external networks

Governance of versioning, backward compatibility, and message validation
3. Operational Resilience & Reliability

Definition of availability targets, latency thresholds, and throughput benchmarks

Architecture for redundancy, fault isolation, and disaster recovery

Embedding observability, monitoring, and traceability into transaction flows

Design of incident escalation and resolution frameworks
4. Governance, Risk & Control Design

Translation of regulatory expectations into system-level controls

Oversight of risk segmentation within payment flows

Clear separation of duties through system logic rather than manual process

Professional Profile

13–18+ years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial infrastructure
