Role Overview
A rapidly expanding fintech infrastructure initiative is building a national-scale real-time financial backbone designed to support instant payments, merchant settlements, cross-border transfers, and enterprise liquidity systems.
To lead the technical evolution of this ecosystem, the organization is seeking a Head of Real-Time Financial Infrastructure & Payments Intelligence Systems.
This role is responsible for designing and governing the core infrastructure that powers instantaneous financial movement across millions of daily transactions. It requires deep expertise in distributed systems, high-throughput architecture, and real-time data processing.
The mandate is to ensure that financial transactions are not only executed efficiently, but also intelligently routed, monitored, and optimized in real time.
Core Responsibilities
Real-Time Financial Systems Engineering
- Design ultra-low latency payment processing systems.
- Build real-time transaction routing and settlement architectures.
- Develop event-driven financial processing pipelines.
- Ensure system performance under high-volume financial loads.
- Optimize throughput and reliability across distributed networks.
Payments Intelligence & Optimization
- Implement intelligent routing for transaction efficiency.
- Enhance payment success rates through adaptive system logic.
- Analyze transaction flows to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop systems for predictive transaction handling.
Infrastructure Scalability & Reliability
- Architect scalable cloud-native financial infrastructure.
- Ensure system resilience and fault tolerance.
- Manage capacity planning for high-volume financial environments.
- Improve observability across financial systems.
Governance & Security Engineering
- Implement secure-by-design financial infrastructure frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
- Maintain auditability and traceability of all financial operations.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in fintech infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in real-time systems and payment processing.
- Experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Proven leadership in technical engineering environments.
