Role Overview
A high-growth fintech ecosystem is developing a suite of consumer-facing financial platforms centered around digital wallets, peer-to-peer payments, merchant transactions, and personal financial management tools.
To lead the engineering backbone of these platforms, the organization is seeking a Head of Fintech Engineering – Scalable Digital Wallets & Consumer Financial Platforms.
This role is responsible for designing and scaling the technical infrastructure that powers millions of daily user interactions. The objective is to create fast, reliable, and secure consumer financial systems that deliver seamless user experiences while handling large-scale transaction volumes.
Core Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Architecture
- Design scalable architectures for digital wallet systems.
- Build backend services supporting high-frequency financial transactions.
- Ensure seamless integration across payment channels and services.
- Optimize system performance for speed and reliability.
Consumer Financial Product Development
- Support development of wallet features including transfers, payments, and savings.
- Enable real-time transaction processing and notifications.
- Enhance user experience through responsive and reliable systems.
- Collaborate with product teams on feature innovation.
Scalability & Performance Optimization
- Ensure systems can handle exponential user growth.
- Implement load balancing and performance tuning strategies.
- Optimize databases and transaction pipelines.
- Maintain high system uptime and reliability.
Security & Compliance
- Implement robust security frameworks for user data protection.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions.
- Maintain auditability and system integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 9+ years of experience in fintech or large-scale platform engineering.
- Strong expertise in backend systems and distributed architecture.
- Experience with consumer-facing financial applications.
- Proven leadership in engineering teams.
