Role Overview
This role is positioned for a senior fintech leader tasked with defining and governing the future-state architecture of digital payment ecosystems across Kuwait and interconnected GCC markets. The Head of Digital Payments Architecture & Ecosystem Strategy will operate at the nexus of technology design, regulatory alignment, and large-scale transaction infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of resilient, scalable, and future-ready payment platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping payment orchestration layers, real-time settlement models, and interoperable financial frameworks that support evolving market demands while maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Architect and oversee end-to-end payment ecosystems, including real-time payments, digital wallets, merchant acquiring platforms, and cross-border settlement frameworks.

Define strategic reference architectures for API-driven payment services, transaction routing engines, and reconciliation systems.

Establish governance models aligning payment infrastructure with regional regulatory, risk, and data residency requirements.

Lead long-term digital payments roadmaps focused on scalability, latency optimization, system resiliency, and operational continuity.

Translate complex architectural decisions into executive-level insights and strategic documentation.

Monitor global payment innovation trends to anticipate future infrastructure requirements and competitive dynamics.
Required Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of experience in digital payments, fintech architecture, or financial infrastructure leadership roles.

Deep expertise in payment processing lifecycles, settlement mechanisms, and API-first financial systems.

Strong understanding of GCC financial market structures and supervisory expectations.

Proven ability to operate at both strategic and architectural levels in remote, multi-stakeholder environments.
