Role Overview

The Head of Digital Banking Modernization will architect and implement Kuwait’s next-generation banking infrastructure built on cloud-native architectures, intelligent automation, open-finance connectivity, and omni-channel digital experiences. The role involves strategic oversight of platform engineering, modernization roadmaps, interoperability standards, and advanced governance frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Modern Banking Architecture

• Lead the transformation of legacy banking stacks into distributed, cloud-native systems with containerized deployment, API-first design, and zero-downtime scalability.

• Develop modular digital banking components supporting accounts, payments, onboarding, deposits, financing, and multi-product orchestration.

• Deploy advanced orchestration layers enabling real-time event processing, intelligent routing, and automated service recovery.

Open Finance & Interoperability Enablement

• Craft secure, standardized open-finance APIs enabling seamless third-party integration, data-sharing, and multi-channel engagement.

• Implement identity-verification layers leveraging decentralized identity principles, privacy-preserving authentication, and multi-factor security.

Governance, Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance

• Establish platform-governance models ensuring reliability, service assurance, auditability, and regulatory alignment with Kuwaiti financial authorities.

• Implement cybersecurity frameworks incorporating threat modeling, endpoint protection, encryption layers, and resilience standards.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years in digital banking transformation, cloud-native architecture, or fintech systems engineering.

• Superior capability in modular system design, API ecosystems, and scalable digital infrastructure.

• Proven leadership modernizing banking technology within regulated markets.

• Strong fluency in GCC digital banking regulatory developments.
