Position Context
As Oman pursues a technology-driven vision for digital financial inclusion and innovation, the Remote Head of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Architecture will lead the transformation of traditional financial models into secure, programmable, and transparent digital ecosystems. This role merges blockchain engineering, institutional finance, and smart contract governance to shape a decentralized framework aligned with international standards.
Purpose of the Role
The Head of DeFi Architecture will design the foundational technology stack supporting Oman’s transition to tokenized banking, decentralized liquidity pools, and smart contract-based lending and investment models. The position emphasizes systemic resilience, regulatory alignment, and cross-chain interoperability across DeFi protocols and traditional banking systems.
Core Responsibilities

Architect large-scale decentralized financial systems integrating stablecoins, tokenized securities, and liquidity management protocols.

Design smart contract infrastructures for programmable lending, automated clearing, and real-time compliance auditing.

Develop secure integration layers between decentralized applications (dApps) and centralized financial institutions.

Lead blockchain research on scalability, consensus optimization, and cross-chain liquidity solutions.

Establish governance frameworks for DeFi ecosystems ensuring transparency, security, and risk traceability.

Collaborate with GCC and international institutions on interoperability standards and decentralized identity solutions.

Provide strategic insight into tokenomics design, market liquidity management, and digital asset regulation evolution.
Qualifications

Advanced degree in Blockchain Engineering, Computer Science, or Financial Systems Design.

10+ years in fintech innovation, with at least 5 years leading blockchain or DeFi infrastructure projects.

Expertise in Solidity, Rust, Go, and smart contract lifecycle management.

Deep familiarity with DeFi security audits, consensus algorithms, and DAO governance models.
