Role Overview
The Head of Blockchain Systems & Digital Asset Innovation will lead the creation of advanced digital asset ecosystems and decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructures for Qatar’s fintech transformation. This role combines strategic foresight with technical excellence to design tokenization frameworks, smart contract architectures, and interoperable distributed ledger ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive blockchain strategies supporting digital asset issuance, custody, and settlement.

Architect interoperable DLT systems ensuring scalability, compliance, and cryptographic resilience.

Lead R&D initiatives exploring tokenized securities, DeFi, and digital currency interoperability.

Define governance standards for digital identity, asset tokenization, and smart contract validation.

Build technical partnerships with blockchain consortia and fintech accelerators.

Integrate blockchain ecosystems with legacy financial infrastructure through secure APIs.

Oversee risk, compliance, and performance monitoring for blockchain implementations.

Drive education and knowledge frameworks around digital asset innovation and regulation.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Master’s degree in Blockchain Technology, Financial Engineering, or Computer Science.

10+ years’ experience in blockchain architecture, fintech strategy, or digital asset systems.

Strong understanding of Ethereum, Hyperledger, and emerging Layer-2 technologies.

Familiarity with international digital asset regulations and FATF travel rule requirements.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional blockchain teams and research programs.
