This role is established to provide architectural authority over real-time payments and settlement ecosystems, focusing on systemic performance, liquidity logic, and operational continuity at national and cross-border scale. The mandate is explicitly non-operational and centers on how payment and settlement systems are structurally designed, governed, and evolved in high-growth financial environments.
The role aligns with Saudi Arabia’s accelerating digital payments landscape while maintaining strict adherence to international settlement, clearing, and transaction integrity standards.
Key Strategic Responsibilities

Architect real-time payments and settlement system frameworks capable of sustained high-volume throughput

Define settlement logic, liquidity movement principles, and reconciliation architectures

Establish governance standards for transaction finality, exception handling, and systemic resilience

Design interoperability models across domestic and cross-border payment rails

Embed regulatory observability and audit readiness at architectural level

Produce authoritative settlement and payments architecture documentation
Required Professional Depth

14+ years in payments infrastructure, settlement systems, or financial market utilities

Deep expertise in real-time payments, clearing mechanisms, and post-transaction processes

Strong understanding of regulatory oversight in payment and settlement environments

Proven ability to operate autonomously at senior architectural level in a remote context
