Position Overview

Oman is embracing digital finance acceleration, with an emphasis on open banking adoption, data-driven services, and fintech integration into mainstream financial markets. As regulatory frameworks encourage API-based innovation, there is a strong need for leadership to build interoperable, secure, and scalable open banking ecosystems that enable new financial products, partnerships, and cross-industry collaboration.

We are seeking a Remote Global Head of Open Banking Ecosystems & API Economy to orchestrate the design, governance, and expansion of Oman’s open banking framework. This role involves establishing API marketplaces, data exchange protocols, and innovation-ready sandboxes that empower fintechs, banks, insurers, and non-financial players to co-create financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Oman’s national open banking strategy and API governance frameworks.

• Establish API marketplaces connecting banks, fintechs, merchants, and regulators.

• Implement secure consent management platforms for customer-controlled data sharing.

• Drive adoption of embedded finance models across e-commerce, telecom, and SME ecosystems.

• Lead integration of real-time payments, credit scoring, and wealth tools into API networks.

• Ensure cybersecurity and data privacy compliance across open finance platforms.

• Collaborate with international ecosystems (EU PSD2, UK Open Banking, Singapore MAS) to harmonize standards.

• Mentor startups and financial institutions in building API-first business models.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years in fintech, digital banking, or API-driven ecosystem strategy.

• Deep expertise in open banking frameworks, data-sharing standards, and embedded finance.

• Technical proficiency in API management platforms, consent-based data architecture, and financial cloud infrastructures.

• Knowledge of GCC financial regulations and international interoperability standards.

• Proven ability to scale open finance ecosystems globally.
