Position Overview
Qatar’s fintech expansion strategy seeks to redefine the global standards for real-time cross-border payments, remittance efficiency, and digital interoperability. The Global Head of Cross-Border Digital Payments Strategy will architect, align, and operationalize next-generation payment ecosystems, ensuring seamless value movement across borders while advancing Qatar’s leadership in frictionless digital settlement systems.
Key Responsibilities

Architect cross-border instant payment frameworks integrating ISO 20022 messaging, digital currency protocols, and cloud-native settlement layers.

Design scalable digital payment infrastructures aligned with international clearing systems, CBDC initiatives, and AML/CFT regulatory frameworks.

Lead strategic partnerships with regional and international regulators to harmonize interoperability and security standards.

Develop real-time transaction analytics and AI-based fraud-detection algorithms to enhance systemic resilience.

Drive inclusion strategies through digital wallets, remittance corridors, and QR-based payment innovation for underbanked populations.
Qualifications

12+ years in global payments architecture, clearing systems, or digital settlement design.

Deep proficiency in blockchain interoperability, payment rails, digital currency infrastructure, and open-API ecosystems.

Advanced degree in Financial Engineering, Systems Design, or Digital Economics.

Proven track record of executing cross-border financial technology programs in multi-jurisdictional environments.
