Role Overview

Qatar is entering a new phase of fintech leadership by focusing on central bank digital currency (CBDC) infrastructures, cross-border settlement systems, and AI-powered treasury ecosystems. The Global Head of CBDC Infrastructure & Cross-Border Treasury Systems will design and execute sovereign-level financial architectures, connecting Qatar’s economy with regional and global corridors.

This role requires expertise at the intersection of monetary innovation, treasury optimization, and blockchain-enabled settlements, positioning Qatar as a key global player in sovereign digital finance.

Strategic Mandates

• Lead the design and deployment of CBDC settlement infrastructures.

• Architect cross-border multi-currency payment systems ensuring interoperability.

• Implement AI-driven liquidity optimization platforms for sovereign and institutional investors.

• Oversee digitization of trade finance and treasury ecosystems using blockchain.

• Align Qatar’s digital finance strategy with global financial institutions and central banks.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years in payments infrastructure, CBDCs, or treasury technology leadership.

• Deep expertise in blockchain settlement frameworks, AI treasury systems, and cross-border interoperability.

• Proven record in multi-market regulatory negotiations and international fintech partnerships.
