Job Overview
Global Digital Payments Infrastructure- Cross-Border Clearing & Financial Network Resilience (Dubai, UAE)
Strategic Mandate
This role exists to design, oversee, and continuously evolve large-scale digital payments infrastructure capable of supporting high-velocity, multi-currency, cross-border financial flows across diverse markets. The Principal Director will operate at the systems-architecture and financial-network level, shaping how transactions are initiated, routed, cleared, settled, reconciled, and audited in real time.
The mandate extends beyond payments engineering: this position defines how financial networks behave under scale, stress, regulatory scrutiny, and geopolitical complexity. The successful candidate will act as a remote authority responsible for ensuring that payment ecosystems are resilient, transparent, and strategically future-proofed.
Core Responsibilities
-
Architect and govern end-to-end digital payment ecosystems, spanning initiation layers, orchestration engines, settlement rails, and post-transaction analytics.
-
Design cross-border clearing and settlement frameworks that accommodate multiple currencies, jurisdictions, and operational constraints.
-
Establish real-time transaction monitoring and exception-management systems to ensure continuous operational integrity.
-
Define architectural principles for latency optimization, fault tolerance, and systemic redundancy.
-
Provide executive-level guidance on payment scalability, interoperability, and infrastructure modernization.
-
Lead globally distributed teams of senior payment engineers, infrastructure specialists, and financial systems analysts in a fully remote environment.
Professional Background & Expertise
-
15+ years of experience in fintech payments infrastructure, financial network architecture, or large-scale transaction systems.
-
Deep technical understanding of real-time payments, settlement models, distributed systems, and API-centric financial platforms.
-
Proven ability to design systems that perform reliably at institutional transaction volumes.
-
Experience operating in remote, globally distributed leadership structures.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
-
Systems thinker with the ability to see payments as financial networks rather than isolated products.
-
Comfortable operating at both deep technical and executive strategic levels.
-
Decisive, methodical, and capable of navigating complexity without compromising precision.
Engagement Model & Compensation
-
Fully remote, strategically aligned to Dubai time zone and global financial markets.
-
Long-term, architecture-defining mandate.
-
Monthly compensation range: AED 110,000 – 165,000, commensurate with scope and seniority.
