The United Arab Emirates, with its forward-looking digital transformation charter and its role as a fintech capital in MENA, is now progressing toward quantum resilience in financial infrastructure. With increasing threats posed by quantum computing to classical encryption models, the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), in collaboration with regulators in ADGM and DIFC, is preparing the next era of quantum-ready financial systems. This includes foundational work in post-quantum cryptography (PQC), CBDC security, and quantum communication for transaction integrity.
This remote role is ideal for a visionary fintech cryptographer and architect who will lay the groundwork for the UAE’s transition to quantum-safe digital banking—positioning the Emirates as one of the world’s earliest adopters of post-quantum secure finance platforms.
Core Objectives
-
Architect and implement quantum-safe cryptographic protocols for end-to-end financial data exchange, tokenization, customer authentication, and smart contract signing.

Collaborate with UAE’s CBDC team to integrate post-quantum encryption methods for wallet generation, interbank transfers, and multi-node reconciliation.

Design financial communication channels secured through quantum key distribution (QKD) over satellite and terrestrial fiber-optic networks.

Establish a national digital wallet security framework, capable of resisting attacks from quantum adversaries projected within 10–15 years.
Tech Stack & Protocol Expertise

PQC schemes such as CRYSTALS-Kyber, Dilithium, and NTRUEncrypt.

Lattice-based and hash-based signature algorithms suitable for financial transactions and digital notarization.

Integration of quantum random number generators (QRNGs) into banking key provisioning systems.

Development of quantum-safe REST APIs, token vaults, and blockchain bridges.
Regulatory & Institutional Coordination

Align with CBUAE’s Financial Infrastructure Transformation (FIT) Programme, ADGM’s DLT Working Group, and Dubai’s Quantum Innovation Council.

Facilitate UAE’s compliance with emerging international PQC standards being finalized by NIST, ISO/IEC, and the UAE National Cybersecurity Council.
Ideal Candidate

15+ years in digital banking infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cryptographic systems.

Direct experience with PQC research or implementation, preferably in regulated environments.

Strong knowledge of tokenized financial architectures, open banking APIs, and CBDC frameworks.
