Job Title: Remote Fintech Risk & Internal Controls Manager

Role Purpose
The Risk & Internal Controls Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal control systems that safeguard fintech operations. The role ensures that financial processes, digital transactions, and operational workflows are conducted within defined risk thresholds and governance standards.
Governance Responsibilities
Policy Development & Implementation
- Develop internal control frameworks aligned with fintech operational requirements
- Establish policies covering transaction processing, financial reporting, and system access
- Continuously update policies to reflect evolving regulatory expectations
Risk Identification & Mitigation
- Identify operational, financial, and technological risks within fintech systems
- Implement mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to risk
- Monitor risk indicators and escalate issues when necessary
Control Testing & Assurance
- Conduct periodic testing of internal controls to ensure effectiveness
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements
- Maintain documentation of control activities and results
Regulatory Alignment & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and governance standards
- Prepare risk and control reports for internal stakeholders
- Support audits and regulatory reviews
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, or fintech governance
- Strong understanding of financial risk frameworks and compliance standards
- Experience in digital financial environments or banking systems
- Ability to design and implement control frameworks
