A Day in This Role
08:30 – Data Exploration & Model Review
You begin your day analyzing transaction datasets, identifying unusual patterns that may indicate fraudulent activity or emerging risk trends. You review model outputs and refine detection algorithms.
10:30 – Cross-Functional Collaboration
You join a session with product and risk teams to discuss how machine learning models can improve real-time fraud detection and credit risk scoring.
13:00 – Model Development
You build and train predictive models using Python-based machine learning frameworks, testing performance against historical financial data.
15:30 – Insights & Reporting
You translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
17:00 – Optimization & Innovation
You experiment with new approaches such as behavioral analytics and anomaly detection techniques to enhance system accuracy.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection and risk analysis.
- Analyze large financial datasets to uncover patterns and anomalies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.
- Continuously improve model accuracy and efficiency.
Technical Skills
- Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn), SQL
- Machine learning techniques (classification, clustering, anomaly detection)
- Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
Experience Requirements
- 4–8 years in data science, fintech analytics, or risk modeling.
- Strong quantitative and analytical background.
