Role Context
This role is positioned at the intersection of financial data science and strategic decision-making. The Financial Data & Insights Analyst will play a critical role in interpreting complex financial datasets, enabling data-driven strategies across digital banking, payments, and lending ecosystems within Oman’s fintech landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Aggregate, cleanse, and analyze large financial datasets from multiple sources including transaction systems, payment gateways, and customer platforms.
- Develop predictive models to identify trends in user behavior, fraud patterns, and transaction anomalies.
- Generate actionable insights to support product, risk, and growth teams.
- Design dashboards and reporting tools using BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and ensure data integrity.
- Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis for fintech products and features.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, business-focused recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3–6 years of experience in financial analytics, fintech, or banking data environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with visualization tools and reporting frameworks.
- Solid understanding of financial products such as payments, lending, or digital wallets.
Desired Skill Set
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to financial datasets.
- Familiarity with fraud detection models and risk scoring systems.
- Experience working in remote, distributed teams with agile workflows.
