About the Role:
A fast-growing fintech venture operating within the UAE ecosystem is seeking a Remote Financial Data Engineer to support its rapidly scaling digital financial infrastructure. The role demands strong technical fluency in data pipelines, real-time transaction processing, and API integrations with banks, PSPs, and fintech aggregators.
As a core part of the engineering team, you will architect and maintain data platforms that power account aggregation, payment analytics, regulatory reporting, and fraud detection. You’ll also partner with product and compliance teams to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable data management across the ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain secure ETL/ELT pipelines for financial data across cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).

Integrate with Open Banking APIs and PSD2-compliant interfaces of UAE-based banks and fintech partners.

Handle large volumes of transactional and behavioral data in structured and unstructured formats.

Implement data quality validation, encryption-at-rest, and tokenization of sensitive fields.

Enable real-time streaming architecture for processing payment events and mobile wallet activity.

Collaborate with machine learning and fraud teams to prepare analytics-ready datasets.

Assist with generating audit trails and reports required for UAE Central Bank and ADGM compliance.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in fintech or financial services.

Hands-on expertise in Python, Spark, SQL, and cloud-native data tools (e.g., AWS Glue, BigQuery, Kafka).

Familiarity with financial transaction standards like ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, and PCI DSS protocols.

Experience working with banking APIs, Open Banking standards, and data governance principles.

Knowledge of the UAE fintech regulatory landscape and secure data handling practices.

Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
