We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, financial controls, reconciliations, and management reporting within a growing fintech environment.
This role is designed for a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise with an understanding of technology-driven financial operations.
You will play a key role in ensuring that financial information is accurate, timely, transparent, and useful for decision-making.
Your Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare management accounts and financial statements.
- Analyze financial performance and variances.
- Provide financial insights to senior management.
- Ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on schedule.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
- Review general-ledger activities.
- Manage reconciliations across bank and payment accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain appropriate accounting documentation.
Fintech & Payment Reconciliation
- Reconcile payment transactions and settlement accounts.
- Monitor payment-related financial flows.
- Investigate settlement discrepancies.
- Work with operations and payment teams to resolve financial issues.
- Improve reconciliation processes through automation and technology.
Financial Controls
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls.
- Identify weaknesses in accounting and financial processes.
- Implement process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure appropriate financial documentation and approvals.
Planning & Analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyze revenue, costs, margins, and cash flow.
- Develop financial dashboards and management reports.
- Provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Support business cases for new products and investments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of accounting or financial-control experience.
- Experience within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP or financial-management systems.
- Strong reconciliation and financial-analysis capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Professional Qualifications
ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualifications will be highly regarded.
