Role Overview

This executive mandate leads the strategic and technical engineering of the UAE’s next-generation real-time payments infrastructure. The Director will design the foundations for ultra-low-latency transaction processing, adaptive AML orchestration, interoperable settlement mechanisms, and intelligent liquidity management pipelines.

Primary Responsibilities

Digital Payments & Settlement Architecture

• Architect multi-rail payment frameworks integrating instant-pay rails, ISO 20022 messaging, real-time clearing, and multi-currency settlement modules.

• Design intelligent liquidity optimization engines enabling high-velocity settlement workflows and automated intraday liquidity monitoring.

• Implement programmable settlement logic supporting institutional payments, merchant disbursements, and cross-border digital trade.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk-Control Systems

• Build compliance-embedded settlement layers aligning with UAE data-residency mandates, AML protocols, and global financial integrity standards.

• Deploy AI-augmented risk-scoring, sanctions intelligence, and anomaly detection models within payment flows.

Interoperability & Ecosystem Integration

• Engineer open-API connectivity enabling seamless integration across banks, fintechs, merchants, wallets, and enterprise platforms.

• Establish interoperability frameworks linking UAE digital payment systems with regional and global corridors.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years in real-time payments, settlement-system engineering, or financial infrastructure design.

• Advanced fluency in ISO 20022, payment orchestration, compliance automation, and cross-border payment technologies.

• Experience designing high-throughput financial systems and multi-party connectivity models.
