Executive Role Overview
A next-generation financial innovation institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking an elite Executive Director of Quantum Finance Infrastructure & Intelligent Payments Innovation to architect and lead one of the region’s most advanced financial technology ecosystems.
This role is built for a rare technology executive capable of operating beyond traditional fintech boundaries—someone who understands not only digital banking and payment modernization, but also the emerging convergence of quantum-resilient infrastructure, intelligent transaction routing, AI-powered treasury automation, and programmable financial ecosystems.
The selected leader will oversee the strategic design of financial platforms supporting real-time settlements, cross-border treasury optimization, embedded finance ecosystems, digital asset payment rails, tokenized liquidity management, and predictive transaction intelligence across GCC markets and global financial corridors.
This is a frontier leadership opportunity requiring architectural vision, regulatory mastery, and the ability to build technology systems designed not just for today’s banking environment—but for the financial systems of the next decade.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise architecture strategy for intelligent payments platforms, digital banking ecosystems, and quantum-resilient financial infrastructure
- Design advanced transaction orchestration systems capable of handling high-frequency settlements, treasury flows, and cross-border liquidity optimization
- Develop secure payment frameworks supporting embedded finance, programmable wallets, tokenized settlement models, and merchant finance ecosystems
- Oversee architecture modernization involving multi-cloud financial infrastructure, distributed processing systems, and zero-latency transaction environments
- Build resilient financial platforms aligned with future cryptographic security standards and post-quantum cybersecurity frameworks
- Drive AI-led payment routing optimization, predictive settlement intelligence, and financial operations automation across treasury and merchant systems
- Collaborate with regulators to ensure compliance across digital payment licensing, transaction governance, AML controls, and data sovereignty mandates
- Lead integration frameworks across SWIFT, instant payment rails, acquiring networks, core banking systems, and international treasury partners
- Establish architecture governance across DevSecOps, observability, business continuity, and financial-grade infrastructure resilience
- Mentor senior engineering leadership teams while defining strategic technology roadmaps for institutional growth
- Evaluate emerging innovations including CBDC readiness, programmable finance layers, machine-led liquidity intelligence, and digital asset interoperability
Required Executive Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
- 10+ years of leadership experience in advanced fintech architecture, digital banking transformation, or enterprise financial infrastructure
- Strong expertise in payment systems, treasury infrastructure, transaction processing, and large-scale financial platform engineering
- Proven experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, hybrid cloud environments, and mission-critical fintech architecture
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, Kubernetes, service mesh architecture, event-driven infrastructure, and API-led banking platforms
- Expertise in PCI DSS, ISO 27001, transaction security models, and regulated financial infrastructure governance
- Strong familiarity with AI-powered operational systems and predictive infrastructure optimization
- Experience with embedded finance models, BaaS ecosystems, and regional payment modernization programs
- Exceptional executive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory communication capabilities
- GCC financial ecosystem exposure strongly preferred
Preferred Distinction
- Experience with tokenized financial infrastructure or digital asset settlement frameworks
- Exposure to quantum-safe cryptography or next-generation security architecture
- Knowledge of institutional treasury modernization and programmable liquidity management
