Role Overview

This executive role oversees the architectural leadership and strategic evolution of Saudi Arabia’s advanced payments and settlement platforms. The Director is responsible for conceptualizing, engineering, and governing high-performance, cross-market payment infrastructures capable of supporting instant payments, digital settlement layers, financial integrity, and forward-looking innovation across domestic and international corridors.

Key Responsibilities

• Design next-generation national and cross-border payment platforms supporting real-time settlement, ISO 20022 messaging, multi-currency logic, and advanced interoperability.

• Lead engineering of secure, resilient, cloud-optimized payments infrastructure leveraging distributed compute, tokenized payment rails, and programmable transaction logic.

• Develop frameworks for operational resilience, end-to-end availability, financial data governance, and multi-layered risk control.

• Integrate advanced AI models for fraud detection, real-time anomaly monitoring, and predictive transaction intelligence.

• Align payment transformations with Saudi regulatory directives, financial infrastructure modernization goals, and cross-market alignment throughout the GCC.

• Spearhead strategic innovation initiatives focusing on embedded payments, smart settlement protocols, and high-efficiency transaction routing.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years in payments engineering, financial infrastructure design, or high-scale transaction technology leadership.

• Proven experience with instant payments, settlement architecture, real-time processing, and cross-border payment orchestration.

• Strong command of regulatory frameworks, financial messaging standards, and cloud-native secure systems.

• Advanced academic background preferred: Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Payments Architecture.
