Remote Executive Director of Open Banking Interoperability, API Governance & Embedded Financial Systems — United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Role Mission

This role orchestrates nation-scale interoperability across Open Banking frameworks, embedded finance platforms, API trust fabrics, consent orchestration engines, developer portal architectures, and consumer data mobility standards within the UAE’s rapidly accelerating fintech landscape. You will construct policy-aligned architectures enabling seamless data portability across banks, payment institutions, and fintech entities while optimizing security posture, consent governance, and ecosystem monetization vectors.

Primary Strategic Objectives

• Lead the architectural convergence of Open Banking APIs, AIS/PIS integration layers, and access control segmentation across regulated financial infrastructures.

• Develop API monetization strategies leveraging tiered developer access, contextual pricing, latency-bandwidth optimization, and regulatory consent boundaries.

• Establish real-time consent management frameworks incorporating revocation triggers, granularity refinement, and data usage expiry.

• Govern data portability interoperability aligning with UAE-aligned data sovereignty principles, cross-platform encryption policies, and API throttling fairness constraints.

Operational Responsibilities

• Architect developer portal ecosystems with full sandbox provisioning, mocking utilities, code scaffolding, and analytics telemetry.

• Deploy schema evolution pipelines allowing non-disruptive contract updates, backward compatibility harmonization, and data type migration safety.

• Implement API observability using distributed tracing, error amplification modeling, and SLO breach early-warning signals.

• Coordinate embedded finance rollout across e-commerce touchpoints, SME underwriting journeys, and loyalty-based reward rails.

Regulatory Harmonization

• Interpret cross-jurisdictional data sharing boundaries, consent revocation latency windows, and traceability requirements.

• Draft compliance alignment matrices integrating audit trails, data minimization heuristics, and usage-justification frameworks.

Security Architecture

• Integrate OAuth2.1, FAPI profiles, token binding, and proof-of-possession flows.

• Implement payload encryption envelopes, deterministic hashing, and consent-bounded signature validation.

Preferred Background

• 12+ years in API platform architecture, Open Banking governance, or embedded financial orchestration.

• Graduate specialization in Information Systems, Financial Engineering, or Distributed Architecture.
