At the center of a sweeping financial modernization agenda, a high-impact fintech ecosystem is seeking an Executive Director of Digital Payments & Financial Infrastructure Strategy to spearhead the design and orchestration of large-scale payment architectures and next-generation financial ecosystems across the Gulf region.
This role operates at the highest level of strategic influence—where financial policy, technological capability, and economic scalability intersect. The organization is investing heavily in building a resilient, interoperable, and intelligent payments environment capable of supporting digital banking, merchant ecosystems, cross-border settlement frameworks, and real-time transaction networks.
The appointed leader will define how modern payment systems evolve—moving beyond traditional rails into programmable, API-driven, and data-enriched financial infrastructures that support national-scale economic activity and digital commerce expansion.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Infrastructure Leadership
- Define long-term strategy for payment ecosystems, including real-time processing and interoperability.
- Lead the design of scalable financial infrastructure supporting enterprise and retail transaction flows.
- Develop frameworks for integrating emerging technologies into financial systems.
- Oversee transformation of legacy payment systems into agile digital architectures.
- Drive innovation in transaction processing, settlement, and reconciliation systems.
Ecosystem Development & Integration
- Architect partnerships across banks, fintech platforms, and merchant networks.
- Design interoperable payment environments connecting diverse financial stakeholders.
- Support development of cross-border transaction frameworks and digital remittance systems.
- Enable seamless integration of embedded finance capabilities into commercial ecosystems.
- Foster collaboration between public and private sector financial entities.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure payment systems align with regulatory and operational standards.
- Develop risk management frameworks for financial infrastructure resilience.
- Oversee compliance strategies related to digital payments and financial data protection.
- Establish governance models for system transparency and accountability.
Innovation & Market Intelligence
- Monitor global fintech trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Identify opportunities for new revenue streams within payment ecosystems.
- Lead innovation initiatives focused on enhancing transaction efficiency and user experience.
- Provide strategic insights to executive stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in fintech, banking, or payment systems.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale financial transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of payment infrastructure and digital finance.
