Role Overview

This role is crafted for an elite payments-technology leader responsible for engineering an end-to-end intelligent digital payments ecosystem for Saudi Arabia’s rapidly advancing fintech environment. The Executive Director will architect next-generation real-time payment engines, intelligent settlement pathways, multi-rail transactional infrastructures, automated treasury optimisation layers, and scalable merchant-acquiring systems. The position demands mastery in payment orchestration, distributed transaction engineering, advanced API security, regulatory mapping, AI-enabled fraud surveillance, and cross-border settlement frameworks aligned with KSA’s digital economy transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect a unified real-time payments platform integrating multi-rail infrastructures (RTP, instant settlements, tokenised value transfer, and digital wallets).

• Build intelligent routing engines incorporating transaction scoring, liquidity forecasting, adaptive settlement optimisation, and rule-based decision automation.

• Design KSA-aligned compliance layers including AML/CTF automation, identity verification pipelines, risk segmentation logic, and automated regulatory reporting.

• Develop merchant-acquiring architectures supporting hierarchical risk controls, embedded finance enablement, API-based onboarding, and omni-channel payment acceptance.

• Oversee construction of cloud-native transaction systems with distributed microservices, event streaming, automated reconciliation, and service-mesh resilience.

• Create cross-border interoperability models connecting KSA payment rails with GCC corridors, integrating FX stabilisation, settlement finality, and multi-currency routing.

• Produce executive documentation: architectural blueprints, payment-rail strategy papers, operational risk frameworks, and multi-year platform evolution roadmaps.

Required Expertise

• 12+ years in digital payments, real-time transaction engineering, or enterprise financial systems architecture.

• Advanced mastery of ISO 20022, RTP systems, distributed payments infrastructure, and AI-enabled fraud intelligence.

• Strong understanding of GCC regulatory frameworks, especially KSA digital payment governance.

• Proven track record designing large-scale, high-availability financial platforms.
