Role Synopsis
The Executive Director of Digital Payment Ecosystem Architecture will serve as the principal visionary and architect for the Kingdom’s next-generation financial infrastructure, overseeing the end-to-end design, deployment, and strategic evolution of retail, corporate, and cross-border payment systems. This role demands a rare combination of technical mastery, regulatory foresight, and executive leadership, with a mandate to drive scalable, resilient, and innovative financial infrastructure aligned with national digital transformation strategies.
Strategic Responsibilities

Design and architect nationwide digital payment ecosystems including instant payments, digital wallets, card schemes, and cross-border transaction platforms

Define enterprise-grade governance frameworks ensuring systemic resilience, operational risk containment, and regulatory compliance

Lead integration strategies for legacy banking systems into cloud-native, API-driven payment architectures

Act as a thought leader and advisor to regulators, fintech consortia, and financial institutions on payment modernization and digital finance innovation

Develop frameworks for operational continuity, disaster recovery, and real-time transaction monitoring across high-volume financial networks

Oversee cross-functional initiatives encompassing cybersecurity, fraud intelligence, AI-enabled monitoring, and analytics platforms

Strategically align emerging technologies—such as blockchain, AI-driven settlement, and tokenized payments—with national and GCC-wide financial objectives
Required Expertise

15+ years of progressive experience in digital payments, financial infrastructure, or large-scale banking technology

Deep understanding of payment rails, ISO-based messaging standards, real-time settlement systems, and cross-border interoperability

Proven experience with cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and high-availability infrastructure design

Demonstrated capacity to translate regulatory frameworks into practical, secure, and scalable technical implementations

Track record of executive-level collaboration with regulators, central banks, and multinational fintech partners
Compensation & Benefits (Saudi Arabia)

Base Salary: SAR 600,000 – SAR 780,000 per annum
