Strategic Purpose of the Role

This role is designed for a senior fintech leader whose career has been shaped by building, steering, and governing complex digital financial platforms at ecosystem scale. The position operates remotely while being strategically aligned with Bahrain’s rapidly evolving digital finance environment.

The Executive Director will act as the custodian of digital payments and platform strategy, overseeing the conceptual design, long-term evolution, and systemic integrity of advanced fintech infrastructures supporting consumers, enterprises, and institutional participants across multiple financial use cases.

Scope of Leadership & Accountability

• Define and own the end-to-end digital finance platform strategy, covering payments, financial data exchange, platform interoperability, and scalable transaction frameworks

• Establish long-term platform roadmaps that balance innovation velocity, regulatory expectations, and operational resilience

• Oversee the architectural alignment of payment rails, digital wallets, API ecosystems, and real-time settlement environments

• Translate national and regional fintech ambitions into concrete execution frameworks and governance models

• Serve as the final decision authority on platform evolution, deprecation strategies, and architectural risk trade-offs

• Provide executive-level oversight of system stability, scalability, and performance integrity

Strategic Influence

• Shape how digital finance platforms evolve over a 5–10 year horizon

• Guide large-scale platform modernization initiatives

• Establish principles for cross-border interoperability and digital finance expansion

• Act as a senior voice in fintech ecosystem design discussions

Professional Profile

• 15+ years in fintech, payments, or digital financial infrastructure leadership

• Proven experience owning enterprise or ecosystem-level platforms

• Deep understanding of digital payments, financial data flows, and platform governance

• Strong executive communication and strategic decision-making capability

• Ability to operate independently with full platform accountability
