Role Overview

This executive role oversees the design, governance, and expansion of Bahrain’s institutional-grade digital asset market infrastructure, enabling secure tokenization, high-assurance custody, programmable settlement, and AI-enhanced supervisory intelligence. The Executive Director is responsible for architecting frameworks that integrate institutional tokenization, digital asset lifecycle management, interoperability protocols, and transparent risk governance into a unified and globally aligned digital financial ecosystem.

The role demands exceptional fluency in digital asset engineering, cryptographic security, automated compliance architectures, and multi-layer capital markets digitization strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Tokenization & Market Infrastructure Engineering

• Architect tokenization platforms covering primary issuance, secondary transfers, market liquidity routing, and asset lifecycle governance.

• Establish secure institutional custody frameworks using HSM-based key management, distributed control structures, and high-redundancy digital vaults.

• Oversee interoperability mechanisms for cross-ledger settlement, bridging protocols, and identity-bound transaction finality.

AI-Enhanced Supervisory & Compliance Systems

• Integrate AI-driven regulatory intelligence engines monitoring trading behaviors, suspicious flows, market manipulation patterns, and cross-network anomalies.

• Develop supervisory dashboards generating real-time market heatmaps, liquidity pressure indicators, and systemic risk charts.

Programmable Finance & Settlement Automation

• Design programmable settlement flows enabling conditional transfers, rule-based collateralization, automated clearing, and multi-asset settlement optimization.

• Integrate smart contract auditing protocols ensuring deterministic settlement and regulatory soundness.

Executive Governance & International Alignment

• Provide strategic leadership on tokenization policy design, technology governance, and cross-border cooperation models.

• Liaise with global digital asset working groups to position Bahrain as an international innovation hub.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Digital Asset Engineering, Financial Cryptography, Capital Markets Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 12 years in digital asset market infrastructure, security engineering, or institutional fintech strategy.

• Strong track record designing secure, regulated digital finance platforms and tokenization frameworks.
