Overview
The Executive Director of Cross-Border Digital Payments & Currency Innovation will design and lead strategic initiatives redefining Oman’s position in global fintech interoperability, with a focus on real-time payment connectivity, digital currency frameworks, and cross-jurisdictional transaction transparency. This role bridges financial policy, advanced technology, and multi-market integration into a unified ecosystem driving regional and international payment modernization.
Key Responsibilities

Architect digital payment infrastructures enabling instant, low-latency cross-border remittance and settlement.

Oversee the development of digital currency prototypes and stable-value assets in alignment with global regulatory trends.

Lead system interoperability programs connecting PSPs, banks, and fintech enablers under unified data standards.

Implement next-gen fraud intelligence networks powered by AI, biometrics, and blockchain forensics.

Collaborate with GCC and international regulators to establish interoperable digital settlement policies.

Spearhead initiatives to enhance open finance participation through smart contract-enabled treasury and liquidity solutions.
Required Expertise

12+ years in cross-border payment innovation, fintech product design, or financial systems strategy.

Mastery of blockchain-based payment solutions, ISO 20022 frameworks, and real-time gross settlement systems.

Strong regulatory acumen across AML/CFT compliance, data protection, and digital asset governance.

Demonstrated experience building payment interoperability across financial ecosystems.

Advanced knowledge of currency tokenization and distributed ledger integration for remittance innovation.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or higher degree in Digital Finance, Economics, or Blockchain Systems Engineering.

Global experience in financial interoperability or central bank digital currency (CBDC) programs.

Recognized participation in fintech standardization or regulatory innovation working groups.
